A Tribute to the Great Randolph Stone

A big thank you to Dr. Randolph Stone, for your contribution as the founder of Polarity Therapy.

Dr. Stone came to America from Austria in 1890. He grew up in the midwest but traveled even as a teen. Initially he considered becoming a Lutheran minister but he discovered a passion for health and began a career as a DO, DC and ND in the early 1920. In the 40's, he delved into meditation techniques from India and in 1947, he organized the information he had collected over the years and published his first book, Energy.

Taking the approach that "whatever works, works!" Dr. Stone studied alternative paths, both spiritually and therapeutically, searching for holistic approaches of all kinds. His heart led him to what many considered hopeless cases and he continued his medical practice for over 50 years. He read, traveled and became the librarian for the Theosophical Society for many years as well.

Today we have the honor of studying his concepts of the polarized field of the body and our relationship to the attraction and repulsion of the inner magnetic field that resides in all life. He continued to write experientially so that we could follow in his footsteps.

It wasn't until the 60's that he gained his unique reputation. He tried to build a relationship with the medical community in the mid 50's by writing and offering free lectures but his timing was off as drugs and surgery were growing in popularity. In 1974, Dr. Stone retired, having found an audience with the younger generation and successfuly passed on the torch to his student, Pierre.
He retired peacefuly in India, meditating, teaching and healing there. He passed in 1981 of natural causes at the age of 91.
