BioSonic Tuning Forks - Ingenious!

After my tribute to Dr. Stone, I decided to continue to honor my teachers as my life has changed so drastically with each therapy that I've learned.

From John Beaulieu I learned that color, sound and vibration were essentially the same thing. Matter is simply energy and whatever state its in, all energy can be changed.

John discovered BioSonic Repatterning™ while sitting in an anechoic chamber at New York University. The chamber is a completely soundproof room that resembles a sensory deprivation chamber. He had read about the experiences of the composer-philosopher John Cage and decided to conduct a similar experiment. While in the chamber, Cage heard two sounds, one high-pitched and the other low-pitched. The engineer he was working with informed him that the high sound was his nervous system and the low sound was his blood circulating.

Inspired by John Cage's experience, he sat in an anechoic chamber for five hundred hours over a period of two years and listened to the sounds of his own body. He began to correlate different states of consciousness with the different sounds of my nervous system. Being a trained musician, he noticed that the high-pitched sounds of his nervous system consisted of several sounds in different intervals. Then one day he brought two tuning forks and tapped them. Immediately he observed that the sound of his nervous system came into resonance with the sound of the tuning forks. It was then he realized that people can be tuned like musical instruments!

Dr. Beaulieu's career spans thirty years of arts, healing arts, and martial arts. He is a graduate of Purdue University (B.A. 1970), Indiana University (M.S., A.B.D. 1973), International College of Naturopathic Medicine / Santa Fe College of Natural Healing(1977), and Westbrook University (Ph.D. 1994). He is a Board Certified member of the American Naturopathic Medical Association and a Registered Polarity Practitioner member of the American Polarity Therapy Association.

What fascinates me most about John is that he has taken mathematical and musical concepts and turned them into a healing art. He has a wonderful CD that is available on his website, www.biosonics.com. He also offers training videos but if you can see him in person, it's definately worth the trip.

A Tribute to the Great Randolph Stone

A big thank you to Dr. Randolph Stone, for your contribution as the founder of Polarity Therapy.

Dr. Stone came to America from Austria in 1890. He grew up in the midwest but traveled even as a teen. Initially he considered becoming a Lutheran minister but he discovered a passion for health and began a career as a DO, DC and ND in the early 1920. In the 40's, he delved into meditation techniques from India and in 1947, he organized the information he had collected over the years and published his first book, Energy.

Taking the approach that "whatever works, works!" Dr. Stone studied alternative paths, both spiritually and therapeutically, searching for holistic approaches of all kinds. His heart led him to what many considered hopeless cases and he continued his medical practice for over 50 years. He read, traveled and became the librarian for the Theosophical Society for many years as well.

Today we have the honor of studying his concepts of the polarized field of the body and our relationship to the attraction and repulsion of the inner magnetic field that resides in all life. He continued to write experientially so that we could follow in his footsteps.

It wasn't until the 60's that he gained his unique reputation. He tried to build a relationship with the medical community in the mid 50's by writing and offering free lectures but his timing was off as drugs and surgery were growing in popularity. In 1974, Dr. Stone retired, having found an audience with the younger generation and successfuly passed on the torch to his student, Pierre.
He retired peacefuly in India, meditating, teaching and healing there. He passed in 1981 of natural causes at the age of 91.
